Defibrillator

Eynsford has one publicly accessible defibrillator which is located on the outside wall of Eynsford village hall, off the High Street. (For those of you who do not know, the village hall is down a side road situated next to Rafferty's Store.

The defibrillator is designed to be used in case of cardiac arrest. On dialling 999, the operator will direct the caller to the nearest defibrillator (if within reasonable distance) and give instructions on how to unlock the cabinet and use the device.

The defibrillator was purchased via an anonymous donation and Eynsford Parish Council acts as guardian. With the help of the Community Warden, regular checks on the cabinet and equipment are undertaken to ensure it is in working order. If the defibrillator is used in an emergency, it will then be out of order until the equipment is renewed.

The parish council is looking into providing another defibrillator elsewhere in the village and would welcome your views on this.
